We envision a world where healthy, land-based living is central to society.

For much of human history, farming was the heart of everyday life, connecting people to the land and to one another.

Over time, that connection has weakened. Cultural values have shifted toward convenience and consumption, leaving many of us more disconnected from our food, our environment, and one another than ever before. Patterns of development and suburban sprawl have only deepened that separation, pushing daily life farther from our land and communities.

At Farmer D & Co, we believe regenerative agriculture, community-centered design, and land stewardship can create healthier, more connected ways of living. We are dedicated to sharing what we learn, so we can collectively work toward the future we envision. Together, we can restore the connection between people, food, and nature.

About Daron “Farmer D” Joffe

For Daron, it all started with a sandwich.

In college, he looked at his lunch and realized how disconnected he was from his food and how it was produced. That moment sparked deeper questions about farming, culture, and the systems that shape how we live on the land.

After apprenticing with leading organic and biodynamic farmers across the country, Daron started and operated his own farm. He later returned to school to study landscape architecture, where he set out to design and build farms and farm-centered communities that bring healthy food closer to people. He helped bring that vision to life by starting the farm at Serenbe, and a fellowship supporting his nonprofit work helped carry the work across the country, eventually growing into the Farmer D & Co practice it is today.

For more than two decades, Daron’s work has focused on restoring the relationship between people, food, land, and community—and advancing a future where healthy, land-based living is central to society. He is the author of Citizen Farmers: The Biodynamic Way to Grow Healthy Food, Build Thriving Communities, and Give Back to the Earth, and founder of the Citizen Farmers nonprofit.

Based in Decatur, Georgia, Daron continues to advocate for a future rooted in stewardship, connection, regenerative agriculture, and food-based education.
