Honeywood Farm

Honeywood Farm is a family-owned property in Barnesville, Georgia, where a working farm, café, market, and event destination connect people to land, local food, and community within a broader conservation-based vision for the property.

The initial farm and enterprise hub is focused on approximately 25 acres adjacent to the main highway. The broader property includes more than 900 acres, creating the opportunity to preserve up to 90% of the land while developing a conservation farm village model that honors the family’s legacy, protects the landscape, and creates long-term value.

The Work

Farmer D & Co developed the master plan for the working farm and related enterprises, including the farm production areas, café, market, and event venue.

The work focused on creating a cohesive farm-based destination that could support daily operations, customer experience, local food sales, gatherings, and long-term business viability.

Farmer D & Co has also supported the ongoing operations of these enterprises, helping translate the plan into a functional and evolving farm business.

Impact

Honeywood Farm demonstrates how a family property can be activated through a phased strategy that begins with a working farm and enterprise hub while planning for long-term conservation and legacy.

Honeywood reflects a central opportunity in Farmer D & Co’s work: helping landowners turn legacy properties into living landscapes that support agriculture, conservation, community, and future generations.

“Farmer D & Co helped us bring the Honeywood Farm vision to life, from the design of the farm and production areas to the operations behind the restaurant, market, events, and guest experience. They understood that Honeywood needed to function as a place where people could gather, eat, celebrate, and connect to the land, while supporting our longer-term vision for conservation, community, and family legacy.”
